From I-30 just east of downtown Fort Worth, take the Beach Street Exit (16C), and go north about a half mile to the Gateway park entrance on the right. Look for the tall skinny retired guy on a gang green colored Bianci Touring Bike. Distance: 40 miles with 50 mile option. Sing, “Over the River (the Trinity) and through the woods (Forest Park) to Grandmother’s house (Dan’s mom’s house) we go! The horse (Dan) knows the way ...” Ride the Trinity Trails to Keller Park and then onward to the historic Dan Ford childhood home to see if Granny has cookies and milk for the LSC kids! Last fall we did this same route and were ambushed by the TTTT (Trinity Trail Troll Tribesmen) who forced us to sacrifice two of our club members in a scary tribal ritual which they call “Ma-Ri-Aj” (or “wedding” in our language) before allowing us to continue. None of us know what might happen this year, so ride with us and find out! Beginners with a shuttle car may halve the distance by pre-parking one car at granny’s house (Call Dan to get the address).
